Valley View is one of the most photographed positions in the world. I know that. Standing there with a camera carries a responsibility to see it through your own eyes, not through the images that came before. The Merced was running high, so I chose a long exposure to calm the surface. The rocks in the foreground give the frame its anchor while El Capitan rises on the left and Bridalveil Fall appears on the right. In black and white, with the water smoothed to silk and the granite sharp against the sky, the scene becomes quieter. Less spectacle, more structure. That shift in tone is what I was after.

The Edition

Edition of 7 + 2 Artist Proofs

The seven prints are shared across all three sizes, so whichever scale you choose, it is one of seven. When the last print is placed, the image is retired and never printed again.

Pricing follows the edition. Each print placed moves the next one up, so the earliest collectors acquire the work at its lowest price.

The Print

Each print is made as an archival pigment print on Hahnemühle fine art paper, chosen for its depth, tonal range and a surface that rewards close looking. Every print is signed and numbered by hand and arrives with a Certificate of Authenticity recording the title, edition number and production details.
